Local Care Board

The Local Care Board is made up of the Executive Officers from the Isle of Wight Council, the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group and the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and supported by the elected member for Adult Social Care and Public Health. The group represents the bringing together of the most significant commissioners and providers of care on the Island with the responsibility to transform the Local Care System and unite efforts to improve the overall quality of health and social care on the Isle of Wight. This will build on the partnership agreements that we have already committed to as an Island and ensure that we put patients, communities and taxpayers’ interests above those of our individual organisations.

The membership of the group is as follows:

  • Clinical Chair of the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Accountable Officer Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Managing Director, Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Chief Executive, Isle of Wight Council
  • Director of Adult Social Services, Isle of Wight Council
  • Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health
  • Chief Executive, Isle of Wight NHS Trust
  • Medical Director, Isle of Wight NHS Trust
  • Chairman, Isle of Wight NHS Trust
  • Chair of the Stakeholder Reference Group
  • Chair of GP Federation (One Wight Health)

The Local Care Board has developed a Local Care Plan which has been agreed with all partners and by the Health and Wellbeing Board. This plan has identified and prioritised those changes required to improve care across the Island building on the Island’s shared vision for person centred care, delivered closer to home. A copy of the plan can be found here.

The group meet on a monthly basis and are supported by a number of key system-wide groups as set out in the governance structure within the plan above.
