Locality Groups

Each of the three Island locality groups are composed of GP Leads from each of the areas constituent practices. Meeting once a month, along with Island based Commissioning Support staff, the groups undertake a number of small commissioning based projects, for example participating in the redesign of care pathways in collaboration with other healthcare and social care colleagues, based on appropriate locally enhanced service (LES) within the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF).

Locality Groups are key to developing an effective CCG on the Isle of Wight, ensures consistent and continuous communication between all levels and all clinical professionals. They are key at feed into discussions about how commissioning should work on the Island in the future, and communicating issues at the heart of frontline healthcare delivery – issues directly effecting patients.
